Bye Bye Rodeo

Summer was over and it was time to send Rodeo to the sale barn.  Pretty sad day. Adam took Mia for ice cream after they went to the sale barn. That made it all better! She talks about Rodeo and Jesse to this day.  She asks if we are going to get him back for this summer. We won't get Rodeo back but we'll get another calf!

Our friends had a calf that lost it's momma so we took it on as Rodeo's companion. Mia named him Jesse!



Rodeo

Rodeo was Mia's summer project. We were hoping for her to show him in the county fair but she need to be 4 to do that.  Even thought we didn't get to show him Mia learned a lot about having a bucket calf and had a lot of fun leading him around the place.  I was so proud of how she handled him. We can't wait to get another calf for this summer!

Rodeo got a friend! Some friends of ours had a momma cow that had twins. She couldn't take care of both of them so we took one. Mia had him named Jesse before he even got to our place! He fits right in. Rodeo and him have made friends and now we have double the chores! We are loving it and loving being outside! We have been working on getting Rodeo to lead. He is doing really good and even lets Mia take him for a walk! He likes to check out the steers when we walk and usually doesn't want to move on!
