Good-bye Ole Blue

The day finally came that Adam had to say good-bye to Ole Blue! Ole Blue got Adam a lot of places over its lifetime. A 1989 model it was his high school pick up, took him to Connor's State College to Livestock Judge, then to OSU whee he would meet the love of his life, to Nebraska for an internship one summer, to Corpus Christi, TX where we made our 1st home, to Orange Grove, TX to his 1st job, to Dallas where we made our 2nd home, then to KS where we reside today. Since its been in KS it took him to work everyday. With over 300,000 miles on it it was time to go. It ran on Propane and saved us so much money in Gas over the years. I really thought we would keep it as a classic and the girls would be driving it to school one day! It was a hard day for Adam but ole Blue has a new home now. It holds so many memories for so many out there!

Learning to sew

Mia got this little sewing kit from Mema for her birthday. We have had a lot of fun working on it together.

Dear Blogger

Dear Blogger,
I have a love/hate relationship with you. This shouldn't be new news to  you.  You keep pushing me back toward Shutterfly and making me regret my decision to move over to you.  The latest thing to tip me off:  I have reached my maximum photo storage limit and now you want me to pay you a fee per month to have more photo storage. I'm not cool with that.

So Dear Blogger Friends out there.  Have you ran into this dilemma? Do you suck it up and pay the stinking storage? Suggestions? I know I am a photo psycho  and take more photo's than I possibly need.  But that's my prerogative! I don't want to miss a single event of my children's childhood.  It goes way to fast and I never want to forget these moments.

Sincerely,
Frustrated Blogger

Aggie, Kit Kat and Soxs

I know I have posted this before, but we sure love our Aggie Dog! Her and Kit Kat get along pretty good and has turned into a great cat! Soxs on the other hand is a little jealous and has gone the other way and is a bit of a B!

Made this fun little collage on Picasa tonight.  I love the pic in the middle with the back of her shirt showing 4-H and her boots! It picked that one out of all of them!

Hadley Layne

Yes, I am using your middle name for a reason, Hadley Layne!!  Wow, what a day! Yesterday you had a fun filled day full of making Christmas goodies and crafts, going to a birthday party, company in the late afternoon and then to a babysitter for a few hours in the evening.  That all equaled to a no nap day. Boy, did it show today or I guess I should say last night.  Why would I possibly think that you would sleep like a baby after such a busy day with no nap? You were up in the wee hours in the morning complaining that your leg hurt. Now, earlier after the birthday party you told me that the boys played rough and you hurt your leg. Now, I know you all too well to know that you were not rough housing with boys!!  So back to the wee hours of the morning.  You were up not 1, not 2 but 3 times crying, needing a drink, etc.  So up it was Sunday morning to get ready for church.  You would not get out of bed b/c your leg hurt.  I checked it out. It would bend, I push on it, you could wiggle your toes.  You would not walk on it at all and if we made you you would cry.  We tried a band-aid, ice pack and Tylenol.  Got you dressed and purposely left you places so you would have to walk to where we were.  You wouldn't do it. If we made you, you would cry and say it hurts.  You would sit there and wait for us to come get you.  So we scooped you up and headed to church.  Carried you to, around and from church.  Came home and put you on the couch.  You sat there till lunch and we carried you to the table. We prayed to Jesus to heal you during your nap. Thank goodness for nap time!!  A freaking miracle happened!  You could walk, you could run, you were just fine!!  It was time to head out the door to Awana's and you were still sporting a little limp but at least getting around.  When we got to Awana's, first thing on your agenda was to tell everyone you hurt your leg.  At supper time we asked you what healed your leg: nap time, medicine or Jesus. You said, Jesus. Praise Jesus!

Now, momma was 99% sure you were OK.  But you put that 1% in my mind that I was missing something and had me worried just enough to make me sick.  You would try to walk, cry, say it hurt and then muster a little smile. That's how I knew you were OK.  But boy did you milk it for what it was worth!!  You little stinker, you.  I always have said you have your momma's determination and boy has that proven true.  Lord Help Me.
